Dress Code Clarification

Due to temperature fluctuations in and out of the buildings, students will be permitted to wear long sleeve under shirts as long as they are approved school colors: white, navy, purple or light blue. There must be an approved collared shirt over the under shirt. As for leggings/tights/stockings/socks approved colors are: white, navy, tan (skin color), black or dark/light brown. The colors listed are the only approved colors, all others will be dress code violations. Please attach this to your dress code policy as it will be in effect until further notice.

Let’s think WARM!!! Unfortunately, it is winter in Delaware. I want to remind you to listen to the radio (WDSD/WSTW), watch television (NBC10/WBOC16), check the State of Delaware School Closing website, or call the school when inclement weather is predicted. At this point in time we have not used any snow days, so our calendar for the end of the year is unchanged.

Monday, January 19th PCA will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Day. With our new trimester schedule, Progress Reports will be sent home on Wednesday, January 28th. On Friday, February 13th PCA faculty will participate in professional development. Students will not have school on that day. President’s Day will be celebrated on Monday February 16th, with no school. March 6th, is the end of second trimester with report cards scheduled to go home on the 11th. Due to the DSTP beginning the same day there may be a change in that date. Please look for more information on our website as the time comes closer.

On a final note, we are beginning to plan for next year. Any siblings of currently enrolled students must complete an application in order to become PCA students in 2009-2010. Look for a letter coming home for you to indicate your student’s attendance at Providence Creek Academy for the 2009-2010 school year. Please complete this letter and return it by the 27th of February so we can prepare for your child.
