Erschen’s Expressions

January/February 2008

Let’s think WARM!!! Unfortunately, it is winter in Delaware. I want to remind you to listen to the radio (WDSD/WSTW), watch television (NBC10/WBOC16), check the State of Delaware School Closing website, or call the school when inclement weather is predicted. At this point in time we have not used any snow days, though we have had two delay days. Those days do not impact the end of the year date, so the last day of school is still scheduled for June 12 with three contingency days built into the calendar.

January 18th, is the end of second marking period with report cards going home on the 24th. Monday, January 21st PCA will be closed in honor of Martin Luther King Day. The month of February is I Love to Read month. Teachers will be doing special activities in their rooms all month to help students with reading and to instill a love for reading in our students. Your support at home would be appreciated. On Friday, February 15th PCA faculty will participate in professional development. Students will not have school on that day. President’s Day will be celebrated on Monday, February 18th, with no school.

On a final note, we are beginning to plan for next year. Any siblings of currently enrolled students must complete an application in order to become PCA students in 2008-2009. Look for a letter coming home the beginning of February for you to indicate your student’s attendance at Providence Creek Academy for the 2008-2009 school year. Please complete this letter and return it by the 29th of February so we can prepare for your child.
