Today is Friday, November 8, 2013 and it is a C1 day for specials!!
SCHOOL CLOSED:
Reminder Students and Staff… School is CLOSED on Monday, November 11, 2013 in honor of Veterans Day!!

BAND:
Beginning Percussion 2 will meet in the band room @ 8:15

CROSS COUNTRY:
Last night PCA's Cross Country team competed in their last meet of the season against Seaford. Boys took home a victory with Justin Golden coming in first place, Tamon Walker in second, and Leroy Meekins in 3rd place, followed by Jason Rodriguez and Joey Grimaldi. PCA's girls lost by one point with Toni Carns coming in first place, Kelsie Webb in 4th and Ashley Hamilton in 5th place. followed by Giana Golden, Torey Simpson, Caroline Dowd and Rachel Sullivan. The Cross country team had a great season and all runners improved their times last night. Your coaches are extremely proud of you.
BASKETBALL TRY-OUTS:
Attention 6th, 7th, 8thgraders interesting in trying out for basketball: Tryouts have been CHANGEDto Friday, November 15th & Monday, November 18thfrom 330-530 in the gym. ALL students must have a sports physical completed in order to try out!!! There will be a sign up sheet by Mrs. Candileri’s office for all those interested in trying out. See Coach Candileri if you have any questions.
PENNY WARS:
Attention Students and Staff… Beginning on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, our school will begin Penny Wars for Middle School Chorus. This will run through Friday, November 22, 2013. There will be 3 total winning grade levels, one from grade K-2, one from grades 3-5, and one from grades 6-8. The winning grade level will get a free pajama or jeans day at a date to be determined. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Hanson the choir director.

SILENT AUCTION AND SPAGHETTI DINNER:
Students and Staff… Silent auction and spaghetti dinner is tonight, November 8th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for children under 12 or you may purchase the tickets in advance at $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. All proceeds will go towards PCA athletics. Please pass the word!! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Rice.
RAFFLE TICKETS:
Students and Staff… Would you like a chance to win two tickets to an NFL football game? The PCA football team and Coach Rice will be selling raffle tickets to a Chicago Bears vs. Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings vs. the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. Cost is $5.00 per raffle ticket OR 5 tickets for $20.00. You may purchase as many tickets as you would like. The winner will receive two tickets to the game. The drawing will be held November 8th at the silent auction and spaghetti dinner. Don't miss out on your chance to win!
CAFÉ POSTER CONTEST:
Attention Students…Submit a Poster/Drawing that shows what you think a “Healthy” Tray should look like with a brief description. Poster/Drawing should include First and Last Name, Grade and Age. PRIZES: The Top (10) Children age 8 and older will be selected to attend the “Kid Chef Program” held in Providence Creek Academy Café from Dec 2nd-6th2013. The Top (10) Children age 7 and below will receive a “Special” Prize. Poster/Drawing should be turned in to the Café no later than Friday, November 15, 2013. Please direct any questions to Chef Rogers.
THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:
Attention Students and Staff… PCA is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit those in our own community who could use a helping hand. Each classroom will be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated in time for Thanksgiving. The homeroom in the Lower and Upper School that has the most donations by November 22ndwill be named the Top Class and win a classroom PARTY after Thanksgiving Break!
JOE CORBI’S DELIVERY:
Reminder… Joe Corbi’s will be delivered on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 and may be picked up between 3:30-6:30pm in the Café.
PICTURE MAKE-UPS:
Attention Students and Staff… Picture Make-ups will be on Friday, November 15, 2013 starting @ 12:00pm. It is jeans day, so if you have make-ups that day, please bring a change of shirt (no one will see the jeans).
JEANS DAY:
Attentions Students and Staff… Jeans Day is Friday, November 15, 2013 with any school appropriate music or white shirt. Cost is $3.00 to participate.
DANCE:
Attention 5th-8thGrade Students… School Dance is Friday, November 15, 2013 from 6-9pm sharp in the Café. Cost is $5.00 and $4.00 if you bring a chaperone.
