Today is Thursday, November 7, 2013 and it is a B5 day for specials!!

SCHOOL CLOSED:

Reminder Students and Staff… School is CLOSED on Monday, November 11, 2013 in honor of Veterans Day!!

BAND:

Beginning Trombone 1 will meet in the band room @ 8:15

Concert Trumpet will meet in the band room @ 10:00

Beginning Trombone 2 will meet in the band room @ 11:10

Beginning Trumpet 3 will meet in the band room @ 12:45

Beginning Trombone 3 will meet in the band room @ 1:45

Concert Low Brass will meet in the band room @ 2:15

PCA Football finished their season yesterday with a 33-20 victory over Red Lion. Leading the offense was Caden Naylor who opened up the game with a 34 yard touchdown pass to Ke'Vonte Jackson. Caden also added 71 yards rushing on 7 carries and 1 touchdown. Jacob Hadik had 92 yards on 6 carries and 1 touchdown, while Brent Young and Denzel Chenny also scored touchdowns for the Saints. Jack Guzman caught a 2 point conversion in the second half, while Jacob Hadik kicked the first successful field goal in PCA history. Jacob Hadik and Brent Young led the defense with 3 tackles and 1 sack each. Sam Hitchner and Jack Guzman both had 2 tackles and 1 fumble recovery, while Tommy McGinnis had 1 tackle and a forced fumble. Also compiling 2 tackles were Connor Sheldon, Bernard Carter, Caden Naylor and PJ Stewart. The PCA football team completed their season going 3 and 5, and winning the most football games in PCA history. Way to go boys! The pizza party for football is today after school in the cafeteria, followed by the Teachers and Coaches vs. Football players game.

BASKETBALL TRY-OUTS:

Attention 6^th, 7^th, 8^thgraders interesting in trying out for basketball: Tryouts have been CHANGED to Friday, November 15^th& Monday, November 18^th from 330-530 in the gym. ALL students must have a sports physical completed in order to try out!!! There will be a sign up sheet by Mrs. Candileri’s office for all those interested in trying out. See Coach Candileri if you have any questions.

PENNY WARS:

Attention Students and Staff… Beginning on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, our school will begin Penny Wars for Middle School Chorus. This will run through Friday, November 22, 2013. There will be 3 total winning grade levels, one from grade K-2, one from grades 3-5, and one from grades 6-8. The winning grade level will get a free pajama or jeans day at a date to be determined. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Hanson the choir director.

SILENT AUCTION AND SPAGHETTI DINNER:

Students and Staff…tickets are now on sale for the silent auction and spaghetti dinner on Friday, November 8th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for children under 12 or you may purchase the tickets in advance at $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. All proceeds will go towards PCA athletics. Please pass the word!! If you have any questions, please see Mr. Rice.

RAFFLE TICKETS:

Students and Staff… Would you like a chance to win two tickets to an NFL football game? The PCA football team and Coach Rice will be selling raffle tickets to a Chicago Bears vs. Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings vs. the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. Cost is $5.00 per raffle ticket OR 5 tickets for $20.00. You may purchase as many tickets as you would like. The winner will receive two tickets to the game. The drawing will be held November 8th at the silent auction and spaghetti dinner. Don't miss out on your chance to win!

CAFÉ POSTER CONTEST:

Attention Students…Submit a Poster/Drawing that shows what you think a “Healthy” Tray should look like with a brief description. Poster/Drawing should include First and Last Name, Grade and Age. PRIZES: The Top (10) Children age 8 and older will be selected to attend the “Kid Chef Program” held in Providence Creek Academy Café from Dec 2^nd-6^th2013. The Top (10) Children age 7 and below will receive a “Special” Prize. Poster/Drawing should be turned in to the Café no later than Friday, November 15, 2013. THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE:

Attention Students and Staff… PCA is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit those in our own community who could use a helping hand. Each classroom will be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated in time for Thanksgiving. The homeroom in the Lower and Upper School that has the most donations by November 22^ndwill be named the Top Class and win a classroom PARTY after Thanksgiving Break!

JOE CORBI’S DELIVERY:

Reminder… Joe Corbi’s will be delivered on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 and may be picked up between 3:30-6:30pm in the Café.

PICTURE MAKE-UPS:

Attention Students and Staff… Picture Make-ups will be on Friday, November 15, 2013 starting @ 12:00pm.
