Today is Monday, October 28, 2013 and it is a F2 day for specials!!

CAFÉ POSTER CONTEST:
Attention Students…Start Today! Submit a Poster/Drawing that shows what you think a “Healthy” Tray should look like with a brief description. Poster/Drawing should include First and Last Name, Grade and Age. Categories Age 8 and above or Age 7 and below… PRIZES: The Top (10) Children age 8 and older will be selected to attend the“Kid Chef Program” held in Providence Creek Academy Café from Dec 2nd-6th2013. The Top (10) Children age 7 and below will receive a “Special” Prize. Poster/Drawing should be turned in to the Café no later than Friday, November 15, 2013. Please direct any questions to Chef Rogers.
BAND:
Beginner Flute 1 will meet in the band room @ 8:15
Beginner Flute 2 will meet in the band room @ 9:15
Concert Flute will meet in the band room @ 10:50
Beginner Flute 3 will meet in the band room @ 1:45
Concert Band Rehearsal will meet in the band room @ 2:45
SPORTS:
PCA’s Cross Country has a quad-meet “Home” on Monday, October 28, 2013 @ 4:00pm. Football Team has a “Home” game on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 against Wilmington Friends School @ 4:00pm.
PCA Football won their home game yesterday, beating Tower Hill for the first time in school history, with a final score of 30-24. Jacob Hadik led the team with 159 yards rushing, 4 touchdowns and a 2 point conversion on 14 carries thanks in large part to the offensive line and the blocking of the bruising fullback Brent Young. Caden Naylor completed a game changing 31 yard pass to Ke'Vonte Jackson, while also adding 33 yards rushing and a touchdown, along with two 2-point conversions. Leading the defense was Jacob Hadik with 8 tackles and 1 interception. Caden Naylor, Brent Young, and Jack Guzman recorded 5 tackles for the Saints, followed by Adam Carter with 4. Hayden Walker and Sam Hitchner each added 2 tackles and 1 sack a piece and Nick Brown added 2 tackles and sealed the game with an interception to stop a Tower Hill come back. PCA's next game is against Wilmington Friends on Tuesday, October 29th at home. Way to go boys!
BASKETBALL TRY-OUTS:
Attention 6th, 7th, 8thgraders interesting in trying out for basketball: Tryouts will be held Thursday, November 7th, Friday November 8th and Tuesday November 12thfrom 330-530 in the gym. ALL students must have a sports physical completed in order to try out!!! There will be a sign up sheet by Mrs. Candileri’s office for all those interested in trying out. See Coach Candileri if you have any questions.
LEAP PROGRAMS:
Attention Students… Leap forms due date has been extended to Friday, November 1, 2013. Don’t miss out get those Leap forms turned in as soon as possible!!
SLW REGISTRATION:
Attention Students 1st-8thGrade… Smyrna Little Wrestlers Registration for the 2013-2014 season will be held on Friday, October 25thfrom 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the Smyrna High School Natatorium. SCHOOL DANCE:
Attention Students 5th-8thGrade… Halloween Dance is tonight, October 25, 2013 from 6-9pm in the Café. Cost is $5.00 and $4.00 if you bring a chaperone. There will be a costume contestand the prize is a $25.00 iTunes Gift Card!!
PICTURE MAKE-UPS:
Attention Students and Staff… Picture Make-ups will be on Friday, November 15, 2013 starting @ 12:00pm.
SILENT AUCTION AND SPAGHETTI DINNER:
Students and Staff…tickets are now on sale for the silent auction and spaghetti dinner on Friday, November 8th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for children under 12 or you may purchase the tickets in advance at $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 12. All proceeds will go towards PCA athletics. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Rice.
RAFFLE TICKETS:
Students and Staff… Would you like a chance to win two tickets to an NFL football game? The PCA football team and Coach Rice will be selling raffle tickets to a Chicago Bears vs. Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings vs. the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. Cost is $5.00 per raffle ticket OR 5 tickets for $20.00. You may purchase as many tickets as you would like. The winner will receive two tickets to the game. The drawing will be held November 8th at the silent auction and spaghetti dinner. Don't miss out on your chance to win!
JEANS DAY:
Attention Students and Staff… Jeans Day with any school appropriate PINK or White shirt is on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Cost is $2.00 to participate.
POWDER PUFF FOOTBALL GAME:
PCA’s annual Powder Puff football game is on Wednesday, October 30th after school from 3:30-5:00pm. This game is open to female staff, parents and students in grades 5th-8th(FEMALES ONLY!!). The football team and other male students may stay after and participate as cheerleaders for the event. Male teachers, if you would like to help out with the game, that would be great. Cost is $2.00 participateand will be collected at the game. All proceeds from the game will go towards the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help fight breast cancer.
